Loft weddings with soaring timber
Embracing Toronto’s Victorian industrial heritage.
Toronto’s historic brick-and-beam industrial lofts, like The Burroughes on Queen West, provide an authentic, textured canvas for modern city weddings. Exposed century-old pine beams, distressed brick, and oversized double-hung windows tell a story of the city’s manufacturing heritage.
Working with heritage lofts requires thoughtful acoustic management. High ceilings and hardwood floors can bounce sound excessively; introducing heavy velvet drapery, plush lounge area rugs, and abundance of lush greenery absorbs echoes and creates cozy conversational nooks.
At night, stringing warm Edison bulbs or placing hundreds of pillar candles against the weathered red brick transforms the industrial space into a golden, romantic sanctuary.
