Life has a way of dishing up some not so perfect moments. To some it’s their troublesome hair, which often causes them embarrassment despite battling with it for ages to get it into shape! Others are fortunate to have no tress trouble at all. If you’re one of those who can’t seem to get your hair right for important dates, you probably are in fear of how it’ll turn out the day you walk down the proverbial aisle. It’s every girl’s dream to be perfectly coiffured on her wedding day. Here are a few tips to help you achieve that perfect look.
The wedding dress, no doubt, will be on top of your list. The dress you choose will naturally influence the extras, by way of accessories, that you might consider. The assistants at the bridal shop will help you pick out a hair band, appropriate flowers or a tiara to match. While you are trying on dresses, it’s natural to look at headdresses as well—that’s if you’re going with a headdress. If you are, it’s advisable to tell your hair stylist, who will suggest a hairstyle that not only caters for the headdress but ensures that your hair stays in place when the headdress needs to be taken off.
Your choice of hairstyle will also depend on whether you’re having a formal wedding or an informal one. You certainly want to make an entrance at a formal affair and a flamboyant hairstyle will certainly make a statement. On the other hand, at an informal ceremony, you could leave your hair loose and unrestrained, or give it a puckish look, if you like. Again, the location of the ceremony dictates the kind of hairstyle you adopt.
Wedding preparations can be hectic and plans often change. Put down on your list ahead of time the hair stylist of your choice. Most people prefer to go with one who has been styling their hair for years. If you don’t have one, fix an appointment with one early enough. Talk to him/her and decide what you would like done with your hair. Remember, it has to be special. The bridesmaids need time too. Don’t forget that they need about four or five hours for their hair dos, as well. You’d rather have the same hairstylist work on the bridesmaid’s hair too. This helps when it comes to uniformity. You don’t want your bridesmaids sporting four different versions of the ‘same’ hairstyle!
Most of all you should be comfortable with your hairstyle. It should express who you are and enhance your personality, not turn you into a total stranger. Talk to your hair stylist and explain what effect you want. You could even create a new hairstyle. Do your homework before the big day. Look through magazines until you find the ideal style that will make you look and feel unique on your great day.
