If you have been to a wedding chances are you recall the traditional favors that the wedding couple provided to their guests.  Wedding shops have many wedding favors you can purchase but for an event as special as a wedding you may want to a more personal present to share with guests to memorialize the occasion.  Not only does this give you an opportunity to bond with those close to you and express your feelings creatively but it also may be an opportunity to save some money as you can likely purchase the items you need at a hobby store.

Wedding Favors with a Purpose

Some wedding favors are more functional than keepsake.  The most popular along these lines are those that are used to bid the bride and groom good by as they depart their wedding party.  An easy favor you can put together for this purpose is bubbles.  Sending the newly weds off with a cloud of bubbles is popular, and affordable.  Another alternative is the Jordan Almonds favors, brightly colored almonds in tiny bags with a color coordinated tie.  Rice has gone out of tradition as it can be a hazard to certain animals. 

Make it Personal

Some prefer to make a wedding gift that is a keepsake as well.  These should be unique and have personal meaning to the bride and groom.  To get a unique idea you can start with a traditional idea and add a new dimension or just think up something entirely new.  Candles are useful and can be homemade if you desire, perhaps the entire wedding party can get involved and make their own.  Additionally, candles can be colored to match any wedding scheme and scented.  Candles can also be accessorized with items that hold meaning to the couple, such as a sea theme if the couple met at the beach.  CD’s are becoming popular as well.  CD’s can be customized with a picture of the couple and can contain the music played at the reception or favorite songs.

You really don’t need to invest much money to come up with a unique wedding gift for your guests.  Wedding gifts are traditionally inexpensive even at the most formal of weddings; however, with some creativity you can make the favor a personal one.
